WhatsApp Web setup

The fastest, cheapest (free) way to send WhatsApp from Shopify. No Meta approval, no BSP, no Business Verification. Scan a QR code once and you're live. Best for stores under 500 messages/day.

Pros: free, instant, works with any WhatsApp account. Cons: unofficial, risk of rate limits or number ban if you spam, session drops if phone stays offline 14 days.

1. Get a dedicated WhatsApp number

Use a new SIM or spare phone, not your personal one. Install WhatsApp and register normally.

Your personal number has a higher ban risk because Meta flags high-volume outbound from consumer accounts. Use a business-only number.

2. Open the QR screen in Alintro

Notif app → Gateways → WhatsApp Web → Connect. Alintro shows a fresh QR code.

3. Scan from your phone

WhatsApp → Settings → Linked Devices → Link a device → point camera at the QR. The session becomes active immediately.

4. Send your first message

Go to Templates, pick or create one, and send a test to your own number. You'll see it arrive instantly.

Staying within limits

  • Keep volume under ~500 messages/day per number.
  • Only message people who ordered from you — never cold outbound.
  • Avoid identical messages to many recipients — WhatsApp's spam filter keys on that.
  • If you want to cross 500/day, move to WhatsApp Meta Cloud API.

Troubleshooting

  • Session disconnected — phone was offline 14+ days, or WhatsApp rotated. Re-scan QR.
  • Messages delay 10+ seconds — normal; WhatsApp Web rate-limits burst sending. Alintro auto-paces.
  • Number temporarily banned — wait 24h, send lower volume after return.

When to graduate to Cloud API

Cross 500 messages/day, want the green tick, or want zero ban risk → use Meta Cloud API.
